I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite blog on the Citadel

10 points to you if you get that allusion. If not, shame, shame on you!
It's a line from the popular trilogy of video games, Mass Effect. I'm so in love with those games it's not even funny.

It's why I've been gone since the last post...I've been playing. It's really addictive. Only thing, I don't really like Multiplayer, but I'm sure that will grow on me.

Today's manicure is a tribute, if you will, to my FemShep. I love it, I want to keep this on for as long as I can. I don't much care if it doesn't match what I'm wearing. (:

The thumb is a little messed up, but it's not too noticeable.

If you haven't played these games yet, CHECK THEM OUT! I know that a lot of people are all uptight about the ending, but I think that's because they're just upset it's over. Maaaaybe not, but whatever.

Well, that's all for now!

A Sigh of Relief

I'm not sure that I'm feeling better, and, actually as I typed that I kind of fell back in a slump. I know that I'm not better yet, though, I'm going back to regular posting, to keep my mind occupied. Also, I start classes in three days, so, that should also help. I'm hoping that I'll be back to my "normal" self soon. Depression is not fun, especially with the host of other issues that come with it.

Anyway, I do have a mani to show you today, and, I'm very happy with the way it turned out! At first, I didn't like it and thought it looked "stupid," but, the more and more I looked at it, I decided that it was quite lovely.
For those of you that know me in person, I love science and the unknown. Lately, my passions have been geared toward space, so, I thought that would be the perfect inspiration for a manicure. Yes, I did SPACE NAILS!

"It's full of stars."

Because I layered so many colors, it was a little hard to clean around the edges, as you can see on my thumb-nail. Actually, looking at this picture, I can't believe how well it turned out.

For the base color I used a simple black. Then I took one of those cheapy cosmetic sponges and sponged on some white. Then a pale yellow on the white, and then a coraly pink in the center of those two colors. That created the "nebula" shapes. I also took a dark shimmery blue and sponged it on around the edges of the nebulas. Taking a toothpick, I dotted some white "stars" in a random fashion. Lastly, I used a holo glitter topcoat to create the effect of more stars.

Sadly, I didn't get to wear this mani long, as it chipped the DAY I finished it. I blame it on the basecoat I was using. I tried a Sally Hansen one, the Double Duty one, I believe, and it was worse than the one I bought at Ulta. As the nail polish chipped, as stupid as this sounds, I got more and more depressed. I don't know why, I know it's not really because of the polish. I guess it's just one of those things, you know?

Well, I hope that you liked it! I'm going back to regular posting again; need to keep the mind occupied.

That's all for now.
